Kathryn Hills (@hairbykkathrynn) of Chakras Spa and Salon, Greensboro, NC, says "Brantley is a fairly regular client. She only visits about every 4 months or so, so we have been doing a lot of ombre or balayage.  She had been going some version of blonde for quite some time (since before we met), and she wanted a change.  I had her show me her Pinterest and I noticed a lot of deep, rich colors...quite different from what she currently had.  She mentioned wanting to go brunette to be closer to her natural color but 'not all one color', so together we decided a color melt would be best!"

Here Hills shares the HOW TO:

Prepare formulas. all Wella Color Touch:

Formula A: 10g 5/71, 10g 5/73, 20g 6/71 with 13v
Formula B: 30g 6/77, 20g 5/75 with 6v
Formula C: 15g 6/77, 15g 7/75 with 6v

STEP 1: Apply Formula A to the roots, stretching down and feathering into the mid strand area.

STEP 2: Using horizontal sections, feather Formula B onto the mid strands and Formula C onto the ends (approximately last 4” of each section). ("To make sure everything was saturated, I used my hands to help in blending.")

STEP 3: Process for 30 minutes. Wash, rinse, towel dry and treat the hair with Wella Service Post Color Treatment for 5 minutes. Rinse and condition.
