Wesley Palmer (@wesdoeshair), co-owner of Against The Grain Salon, Houston, Texas, says that client Tiffany "is a bartender who wants to stand out. She came to me with natural level 3 hair and wanted to be gray with an ombré effect." Palmer got busy for this transformation that took 6 hours.

Step 1: Using Wella Blondor with 40 volume developer, foil highlight from mids to ends throughout with a heavier concentration at the ends of the hair. Process for 40 minutes. Shampoo and dry completely.

Step 2: Using Blondor and 30 volume (with Olaplex) apply a foil overlay to totally saturate the blonde more quickly and add more dimension. Process to level 9 then shampoo and dry completely.

Step 3: Tone with Wella Color Touch 7/89 with 6 volume developer. "For this application I applied from the scalp to mid shaft and let sit 5 minutes then pulled everything through the ends and let sit 20 minutes."
