Kesley Reynolds (@khbkesley) of Salt Lake City, Utah, created this breathtaking silver sombre and we had to know more. Apparently this client was "over" blonde "but didn't want something that would be hard to change back to blonde if she didn't love it," says Reynolds. "She decided the silver trend was exactly what she wanted. She searched for the right stylist to do it and came across my page on Instagram through one of my hashtags. She wanted some 'pops' of purple as well to go with the silver!"

Here she shares the HOW TO :

Step 1: Balayage using Matrix V lights Lightener with 30 volume developer and a bond builder at the root.

Step 2: Continue through the ends with 10 volume developer (to brighten up).

Step 3: Process for 25 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

Step 4: Apply Aloxxi 10v blended with 10 volume developer for 5 minutes to get rid of unwanted yellow tones.

Step 5: Blend 1 1/2 oz Aloxxi 8 ash violet,  a chocolate chip size amount of violet kicker and 1n and 10 volume. Apply over the 10v and let process for 5 minutes.

Step 6: Apply 1oz 1n and 1/2 oz violet kicker with 10 volume at the root. Rake through with fingers.

Step 7: Watch carefully for 5 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.

Step 8: Balayage some peekaboo highlights through the bottom with Joico Intensities Light Purple. Rinse and apply a bond builder. Rinse, shampoo and condition.
