What a color transformation!

Hair colorist Shonda Broadus (@shondabroadus) at Color Me RAD Salon in Beaufort, South Carolina, recently had a client come in with a faded, dull ombre with damaged ends. What's a hair stylist to do?

Broadus wanted to completely transform her client's hair color. Her inspiration? -- Colors of the Galaxy (pictured). To match her inspiration, Broadus chose purple, blue and teal highlights on a dark base. "Before starting her hair color, I cut off unwanted length to avoid wasting product," says Broadus. Here are the rest of her how-to steps:

STEP 1: "I redid my client's balayage/ombre using Schwarzkopf Igora Vario Blond Plus Blue Dust-Free Bleach and 30 volume. I let it process for about 30 minutes."

STEP 2: "Once she was done processing, I shampooed and towel-dried her hair."

STEP 3: "I began balayage painting my chosen Pravana Vivids colors (violet, blue, green and magenta) in the pattern we discussed."

STEP 4: "After processing at room temperature for 20 minutes I rinsed and shampooed the hair once more."

STEP 5: "I followed up by cutting her layers and giving her a quick blowout using VERB Ghost Oil."
